About the Department Facilities Subjects of Study Faculty Profile

Laboratory facilities

The laboratory facilities and experiments are designed to achieve parallel growth in theoretical and practical skills keeping in mind the current developments.

Advanced Computer Laboratory

Pentium-IV/Core2Duo PCs running on Windows XP with Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0,ORACLE9i,Power Builder 6.0,Turbo C, Borland C++, Turbo Assembler, Debugger, Java Developer Kit 2.0. All necessary accessories like scanner, Laser Printer, CD-Writer and DVD-Writer are available.

Multimedia Lab

The laboratory is equipped with latest multimedia software and advanced hardware. Some of the Software used:

  • 3D Studio max
  • Adobe Photoshop 7.0
  • Adobe Premiere 7.0
  • Corel Draw 11.0
  • Adobe Photo Deluxe 2.0
  • Macromedia STUDIO MX 2004
  • Macromedia DIRECTOR MX 2004

These software provide designers and developers the opportunity to experience and evaluate new and emerging innovations, technologies and products. Lab fosters a more collaborative process of software development.
At these labs the students will have access to resources such as:

  • Pre-release software and technologies
  • Samples, tutorials and best practices

Software Engineering Lab

This lab facilitates student with the foundations of design of assemblers, Loaders, Linkers and Macro processors. It also helps in the understanding of system software tools and machine architecture.

BORLAND C/C++

The compilers form the core of Borland’s C++ Builder 5, which is a complete integrated development environment. This compiler provides a free, reasonably easy to use as an alternative to commercial products such as Microsoft’s Visual C++ and Borland’s C++ Builder. On the downside An IDE provides an editor, compiler and debugger all in one, along with menus.

CASE TOOLS

Case tools lab uses the Unified Modeling Language, real-time design constructs, high performance code generation, and model execution, allowing students to: UNIFY them by describing their real-time embedded systems using the UML.OP

Component Based Technology Lab

This lab exploits web based applications using component based technologies (EJB, COM/DCOM), developing distributing applications using RMI & CORBA, creating dynamic web pages using servlet, JSP, HTML and developing some web applications.

System Software Lab

This lab helps students to enhance their knowledge in implementing symbol table with functions to create, insert, modify, search and display. It also helps students with implementing assemblers, loaders, macro processors and text editors.

Association Details

The Information Technology Association is a blend of students who possess individual talents and strength. Every year association functions and national level technical symposiums like GRANOSALIS and XPLOEZ are conducted to stimulate the inner talents of students. All the students and faculty members are fully involved in this association. We regularly conduct seminars and other activities weekly. Following were the guest lecturers that were invited.

  • Mr. C. Seetha Raman, Director of Campus Images E-Learning Services of Raindrop productions, New Jersey, U.S.A
  • Mr. Madhu Nambudiri, Director (TIME), CBE
  • Mr. Senthil Kumar, Executive (NIIT)
  • Mr. Vimal, ACENET Education
  • Ms. S. Chitra, Executive (GNIIT)

Measurement and Instrumentation Laboratory

The laboratory is established with all types of measuring modules including pH, conductivity, viscosity, etc. It has advanced computerized Spectro -photometer which encourages the students to analyze in the field of Industrial Chemical Process. In short this laboratory engraves on the minds of engineers about the importance of Quality Control in the Industrial Environment.

Electrical Machines Laboratory

This laboratory gives strong foundation in electrical engineering, AC machines, DC machines and Transformer with high capacity. The laboratory is provided with adequate machines which would enhance the individual performance of the students. The laboratory also helps the students to show their interest in the field of domestic and industrial wiring which inculcates them to implement in commercial applications.
